These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of the PelletPal online store at shop.pelletpal.net and to any order you place with PelletPal ("PelletPal", "we", "us"). By using the store or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
Who can order
You must be at least 18 years old, or ordering on behalf of a school, district or other organization that has authorized you to do so. Our products are intended for supervised educational use.
Educational use and safety
- Our owl pellets are natural specimens: real barn owl pellets, heat-treated before packing and individually foil-wrapped. Contents, size and bones found vary from pellet to pellet.
- Products are for educational use only. They are not food, toys or medical products. Do not eat the pellets, and keep them away from food preparation areas.
- Adult supervision is recommended, especially for children ages 8 and under.
- Wash hands after every dissection, and clean work surfaces afterwards.
- Dissection tools have pointed tips; use them carefully and only for their intended purpose.
- Anyone with allergies or sensitivities to natural materials such as fur and dust should take appropriate precautions, such as wearing gloves.
Products, pricing and errors
We try to describe and photograph our products accurately. Because pellets are natural items, actual pellets will differ from the photos. Prices are in US dollars and do not include applicable taxes unless stated. We may change prices or products at any time, but changes won't affect orders we have already confirmed.
If a product is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information because of an error, we may cancel or refuse orders for that product, even after an order confirmation has been sent. If your payment has been taken, we will refund it in full. We may also limit quantities or refuse orders we reasonably believe are fraudulent.
Orders and payment
Your order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we ship it or send an order confirmation. Payment is due at checkout and is processed by our third-party payment providers, unless you are approved for purchase-order terms (below). Discount codes have the terms shown when they are offered and can't be exchanged for cash.
Shipping
- $7 flat-rate USPS shipping.
- Free shipping on orders of $100 or more within the continental US.
- Orders to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, other US territories and APO/FPO military addresses ship via USPS Priority Mail at a $15 flat rate (larger orders may incur additional charges).
- We currently ship only to addresses in the United States.

Returns, refunds and damaged items
Returns, refunds, cancellations and damaged, missing or wrong items are handled under our Shipping & Returns policy, which forms part of these Terms. If anything here appears to conflict with that page, the Shipping & Returns policy applies.
Schools, purchase orders and Net 30
We accept purchase orders from schools, districts and other educational institutions. Net 30 terms, terms for tax-exempt orders and how to request a quote are described on our Schools & Purchase Orders page. Invoices under Net 30 terms are due 30 days from the invoice date. We may decline or withdraw purchase-order terms at our discretion.
Intellectual property
The text, images, graphics, logos and teaching materials on our store belong to PelletPal or our licensors. You may print or copy teaching materials we provide for your own classroom or household use. You may not resell or republish them without our written permission.
Disclaimers
Except as stated in these Terms, products are provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PelletPal will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the store or our products. Our total liability for any claim relating to an order will not exceed the amount you paid for that order. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so these may not apply to you.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which PelletPal is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version posted on this page, with its effective date, applies to orders placed after it is posted.
